In Tango City, humans and human-shaped robots called cybersabers coexist more or less peacefully. Zafnar Farfetched is no exception, a human with a mundane job and a quiet life. His life changes, however, when he finds his long-lost childhood friend Lemonlime, one of the first cybersabers ever built.
Suddenly, everything changes. Someone wants him dead, and to replace all of humanity with identical cybersabers that are programmed to obey without question. In order to stop them, he'll have to delve into the past, to the very creation of the cybersabers and their purpose.
Sunny DuPont has just arrived in Tango City, home of the famed Robotics Center, to start her dream job. Trouble is, they're in the middle of a sudden hiring freeze. The only robot-related job she can find is at Pizzaland, a restaurant with arcade games and a raggedy band of animatronic animals who perform for the crowd. Sunny's not one to back down from a challenge, though. But she doesn't just want to make them look real. She wants them to BE real. And when the performers have a mind of their own, they begin to go in directions Sunny never planned for them to go.
